Crowns

Crowns can be used as an alternative to veneers, to make a crooked teeth appear straighter, to repair damaged teeth, or to cover other cosmetic treatments such as a bridge or implant. The surface of the tooth is reduced, then covered with a custom-made cap made either from porcelain or other durable substance. Crowns are sometimes used in conjunction with veneers in a full mouth restorative procedure.

The procedure is carried out using a local anaethetic, but concious sedation may also be offred.

A crown will usually last for approximately ten to fifteen years, if fitted correctly and looked after, as advised.
